Shrimps // Sophia Webster // LFW // AW15

Another Friday night London Fashion Week show who is worthy of discussing is Hannah Weiland, aka, Shrimps, aka, you should probably know her anyway. She took the 70s into terrestrial territory. And rocked faux fur garments and accessories, with plaid skirts, and glittery skirt suits.

The London born brand borrowed Sophia Webster's amazing skills and helped make the clutches and shoes. And since I've mentioned Ms Webster, her AW15 "Freak Like Me" collection on Sunday, is most definitely worth a mention too. Not just for the usual colour and vibrancy, but for the way those ladies could physically bend.

Caitlin Price // LFW // AW15

Whilst I was pulling pints on Friday and trying to get a look in at my Instagram feed of fashion week updates, Caitlin Price, under Fashion East, exhibited her AW15 collection. This South London gal, who worked as a womenswear designer for Christopher Shannon, based her collection on her girl friends and the idea of getting ready for a night out, she told Dazed Magazine.

Dresses, skirts and tracksuits are constructed from satin, and designed with appliqué technique. Teamed with gold hoops, Nike Air Max, gelled baby hair, and visible thongs. It's like a 19th Century rude gal.

"Clothes designed to re-inspire"

Finery London ladies and gentleman. Launched at the start of this month online, this new contemporary British brand offers the public luxe garments at a reasonable high street price. Finery keeps in mind that it's target audience is the girl who knows her own style, and has perhaps grown tired of the post-recession high street.

The 150 piece Spring/Summer collection is the birth child of Caren Downie,  a previous fashion director at ASOS and buying director at Topshop, Emma Farrow old head of design at Topshop, and Rachel Morgans, ASOS's old head buyer. That's enough to reassure you. The collection consist of luxe utility-like workwear, to clean-cut dresses, shoes and accessories, and resembles something of a mix between Cos and Whistles.

Finery has experienced a great public reaction, with some pieces even selling out already. Three women who share the same idea, to bring the love back into shopping. Check out the ladies hard work for yourself until the 23rd at their pop-up in Covent Garden.

Galactic Power @ Nylon Magaine February '15

Nylon Magazine February '15 issue has gone all out with "Galactic Power". Senior Beauty Editor Jade Taylor takes her life long obsession with the extraterrestrial, produces a glittering gallery of hypnotising colours, and the results are amazing. It almost makes me wish I had an excuse to dress up. Ms Taylor, describing the shoot as "all types of cool", couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Neither can I. The link below will display the entire shoot in all its unearthly glory, and she's worth following on social media to find out what she's got in-store for us earthlings next.

Nadia Lee Cohen: 100 Naked Women

I would describe her work as a movie still from Mars Attacks, mixed with what I would imagine the American Dream is from countless rewatching of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and far from boring. 24 year old Londoner Nadia Lee Cohen's photography and films resembles that of a combination of American and British culture in the 50s, 60s and 70s and the photo's always captivate you with their colour. A Del-Boy inspired photo series published in July last year might explain what I'm trying to say a bit more. And not to mention, I have never seen a woman hold a cigarette more fabulously then herself.

Check out her latest ongoing photo series project, 100 Naked Women. Inspired by the Free the Nipple campaign, Cohen's striking, bold non-models are ultimately portraying characters, and the influence of cinema is constant. She hopes to confront the unrealistic portrayal of the female body in the fashion industry, and when finished, these images will all be published in presumably, a pretty amazing book. Follow her on Instagram, it's totally worth it to see those few seconds of colour as you scroll down your newsfeed. Hypnotizing.
