Fashion Sunday @ Oval Space 5//10//14

Fresh starts, new beginnings, and forever wanting more coats. Okay, so I'm not entirely fresh off the boat on the whole London Town adventure. I mean blogging wise, and the whole sorting your life out kind-of-thing. It's an achievement for me, because in my spare time, I'm at best, a lazy sod, but cometh the new academic year, I'm finally making plans to grow up a little bit more, and going back to university to get a degree in Journalism and Fashion Marketing.

Since Autumn has reared its trendy face again, comes the wave of coats, knits, and keep-warm accessories. I bloody love autumn, and I bloody love coats as well. I think of coats as an investment. The wonderful and perfectly suited diverse, and multi-purpose East London venue Oval Space, along with support from the Mayor of London, welcomed back another installation of the quarterly fashion and accesories event, Fashion Sunday, this weekend. The one-day long event aimed at celebrating new and upcoming designers, and giving them the chance to showcase what they have created, and gain more hopeful admirers, and buyers, for their exquisite talents. London designer Florence Bridge, brought her enchanting collection of sparkly mini dresses, digitally printed silk and over sized lambswool collar a-game. Keeping with the over sized collar theme, this mint green in your face, eye catcher cannot go unmentioned, what a magnificent sight from designer Nadine Peters. I recognise that is intended as menswear, but I would happily spend the foreseeable winter months wrapped up in this mint dream. Ready-to-wear designer Tiffany Alwis's luxury label Hellespont, presented the public with her bomber jacket vision. The label built itself on Alwis's belief of blurring the lines between women and menswear. The jackets present themselves with opulent Swiss cotton, leather, and wool. The detailed cream and gold Watson bomber is the most luxurious and decadent looking of them all. So, A day of exceptional talent, £5 glasses of prosecco and at one stage I'm pretty sure I can recall hearing Get Down by Nas, all account for a pretty successful day for fresh and inspiring fashion. Have a look, and get your bank details ready.
